Menopause affects millions of women during their peak working and caregiving years, yet many healthcare professionals receive little formal education on its impact. This presentation explores the stages of menopause, common symptoms, oral health implications, and the role dental professionals can play in supporting both patients and team members. Attendees will gain practical strategies for recognizing menopause related oral health concerns, improving patient communication, and fostering a supportive workplace culture within dental practices.

  2. Identify common menopause symptoms and their potential impact on patients and dental team members.
  3. Recognize the relationship between menopause and oral health, including dry mouth, gum disease, bone loss, and increased cavity risk.
  4. Apply strategies to improve communication with patients experiencing menopause related symptoms.
  5. Discuss the role of dental professionals in reducing stigma and improving awareness of menopause within clinical settings.
  6. Identify practical workplace supports and accommodations that can help employees manage menopause symptoms at work.
