Presentation: Success in Dentistry Through an Understanding of Physics and Chemistry. Using a foundation built from Kois, Spear, Dawson and Pankey Principles, grounded with physics and chemistry basics, I was able to practice for 40 years with few failures. For predictable and durable results, knowledge of simple chemistry and basic physics can aid in prep designs and material selection. Understand how physics can improve your shade selection, radio-graphic diagnosis, crown cementation, crown retention and occlusal harmony. Learn easily implementable aids that will improve your everyday dentistry immediately.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn how to improve your Shade Selection using more science than guesswork.
- Learn the importance of avoiding the Mach Effect in radiographic interpretation. (What is it anyway?)
- What is Ferrule and why is it critical to offset lateral loading?
- Understand why and how to treat Occlusal Disease.
- See how an example of “unconventional” dentistry using scientific principles resulted in a successful case.
- Learn why most of us are performing incomplete oral cancer exams.
- What is “platform switching” and why is it important in implant restorative dentistry?
